Xbox 360 Party: Ninja Gaiden II
Posted by miuki as Game Previews, Games, Invites, Xbox
I really got to get this entries moving along. 2 down 8 more to go!
Next title is none other then…
Ninja Gaiden II
Sigh. All that blood but none from me.
If given the opportunity to really get my hands dirty, I’d really like to ripe this game apart and tell you head to toes how and what makes it bleed. But, hey, boohoo for me. At least I had the opportunity to sit back, relax, and watch the presenter work the blades? [ Click here to read more ]

Posted by miuki as Game Previews, Games, Invites, Xbox
Here’s another take at the Xbox 360’s 2nd Birthday Party at The Screening Room on April 3, 2008.

Title no. 2 (out of the 10 that I’ve promised) is…
Alone in the Dark
Taking the fear to a whole new level, and giving more gory zombie slasher survival thriller goodness, the next gen Alone in the Dark features the macabre style of the series played with new gameplay mechanics and a broader-reaching, action-packed play style. Explore fully-interactive real-time worlds, interacting with physics and roaming the wide-open, fright-filled environments. [ Click here to read more ]

Xbox 360 Party: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Posted by miuki as Game Previews, Games, Invites, Xbox
I know I haven’t been updating much lately, exams were in place. But now, since my exams are over and I’m back in action (so to speak) yet again!
Anyhow.
After attending Xbox 360’s 2nd Birthday Party at The Screening Room on April 3, 2008 (3 days before my first paper), I feel the whole gaming spirit in me suddenly rushing out for some air.
We were given a sneak peek at 10 upcoming titles on the Xbox 360, and I’ve have to say that most, if not all, of them look delicious enough to eat! (Too bad I don’t have my own Xbox set yet though.)
10 titles is seriously a little overwhelming for one entry alone, so, for starters, I’m going to present to you…
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Here’s my favorite screenshot outta the 3 (there’s only 4 given to us anyway) that I’ve selected to present to you. [ Click here to read more ]

Will Arnett talks about Call Of Duty 4
Posted by miuki as Personal, Video Clips
If you peeps missed the other night’s Conan O’Brien with Will Arnett on it, here’s a replay for you:
Here’s the something considerably ‘note-worthy’. Apparently, a good portion of the interview all he, Will Arnett talked about was playing Call of Duty 4.
Kinda kewl I guess. Though to be honest, I don’t really watch Conan O’Brien that much.

Loving the shopping cart!
Posted by miuki as Advertorial, Personal
Some time ago I wrote about the idea of doing up this new online game shop with this shopping cart software from Ashop Commerce, well, it’s almost done. Seriously.
You may think it’s an advertorial entry or something, but well… It isn’t. I actually installed it and playing around with it right now!
But of course, I’m not releasing it until later days. Got some integration to meddle with before I proceed on actually advertising the site and all. (If I can successfully integrate it that is.)
It’s quite complex yet simple at the same time. Fascinating I must say. (Okay maybe not that fascinating.)
All in all, it has the right features, has the right look, and well, has the ability to allow online shoppers to purchase. Duh. (Otherwise it wouldn’t be a shopping cart software would it?) [ Click here to read more ]

Time to pay Philippines a visit?
Posted by miuki as Advertorial, Personal
Let’s be honest here, I love traveling but there are certain places that I didn’t include on my ‘lifetime traveling plans‘.
For example, the Philippines.
See… I’ve had Filipino maids for the whole of my life, never a Singaporean or anything like that. Thus, I’ve always had the impression that the Philippines is like a provincial country. In other words, I somewhat considered it a ‘poor man’s land‘.
(I doubt they have resorts, and I cannot begin to imagine the kind of hotels or even motels, they have.)
Unlike Vietnam or such, how often do you hear about sights and/or landmarks worth visiting in the Philippines?
Lets be honest here, they’re not exactly the country filled with wonders. Disasters on the other hand… That I’ve heard a lifetime worth of stories.
Impressions can be changed.

What are your gaming resolutions for 2008?
Posted by miuki as Gamers, Personal
Time really does fly by so quickly…

I don’t have a 2008 one yet.
Not too long ago we were celebrating the turn of a year. In a couple more days (give and take a little), it’s going to be Lunar New Year.
Sometimes I wish we could just put a pause to it all and just enjoy the moment as it is.
*Sigh*
In the past, writing or rather blogging was merely an obsessive hobby of mine. These days it seems like part of my bread and butter as well. The good thing about it is that I get to write and somewhat get to cash out on it. The bad, well… It may end up becoming a ‘need‘ rather then a ‘want‘, which will kill the hobby altogether.
Anyhow.
I realized I’ve not actually made my gaming resolutions for 2008 yet, so here it is.
My resolution for 2008, like what ‘Blog Banter‘ would say, [ Click here to read more ]

Counter-Strike vs. Paintball
Posted by miuki as Personal, Perspectives
If you were to select Counter-Strike (the PC game) or Paintball, which would you pick?
For me, I pick Counter-Strike of course. I never really liked “real life” violence. Virtual reality kind is “okay”, I guess. I mean, you can’t actually get injured playing a PC game, can you?
Anyway…
I’ve been hearing a couple of comments about the somewhat link between Counter-Strike and Paintball. And to be frank, I find it ridiculous.
Counter-Strike is Counter-Strike.
Paintball is Paintball.
The significant difference between them is that one is virtual the other is reality. Enough said?
For god sake, Counter-Strike is a damn PC game, it’s virtual! Where as, Paintball is somewhat like a physical sport, it’s very real!
The requirements for Counter-Strike and Paintball is completely different. To play Counter-Strike you just need a PC, a keyboard, a mouse, and of course the game installed. But for Paintball, you actually require stamina and speed to be able to excel (and not to forget you need to be able to bear with PAIN as well). [ Click here to read more ]

Happy 2008!
Posted by miuki as Personal
After 365 days, it’s a new year all over again!
Just yesterday, I heard something interesting on the radio. It seems “gaming” (in general), whether PC or console is somewhat blooming in Singapore as we speak.
Not only are there more and more Game Development Companies are coming up. Games that are pushed out to the Singapore market are also somewhat receiving relatively good response from the consumers. In fact, it’s said that many purchased “games” as gifts for Christmas! I didn’t though. My Teddybear isn’t much of a game fanatic. Still… (Another tale for another time.)
Anyway…
According to Axisnova.com the ‘Top 10 Games 2007‘ (cross platforms) are:
1. BioShock X360 2K Games 95.5%
2. BioShock PC 2K Games 95.5%
3. Halo 3 X360 Microsoft Game Studios 94.6%
4. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion PS3 Bethesda Softworks 93.0%
5. Galactic Civilizations II: Dark Avatar PC Stardock 92.9%
6. God of War II PS2 SCEA 92.7%
7. Guitar Hero II X360 RedOctane 92.1%
8. Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition WII Capcom 91.2%
9. Final Fantasy VI Advance GBA Nintendo 91.0%
10. World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade PC Blizzard

Worth of a gamer’s life
Posted by miuki as Personal
I’ve been gaming for the most part of my life. Sometimes I forget to differentiate reality from the online life that I have.
Normal for a gamer though. You can really be immersed in the game that you over look the fact that you still have to live the physical life. I’m getting kinda emotional huh?
Not exactly. It’s just that an insurance agent approached me today and he got me thinking. He wasn’t able to sell me anything though. Hey uncle! I’m a gamer.
You can say that half of my life is spent online nowadays. So why would I go to a live insurance agent? Might as well search for an online insurance policy. Makes sense right? [ Click here to read more ]
