BackgammonMasters: Guinness World Record!
Posted by miuki as Tournaments
Backgammon Masters online game operator has applied for a Guinness Gamer World Record in farthest backgammon dice toss!
Just a short recaps, BackgammonMasters.com, the World Backgammon Network, is the place to find a revolutionary approach to backgammon online (and of course, let’s not forget poker).
The purpose of the event to announce and promote Backgammon Masters Backgammon Freeroll tournaments held every Tuesday and Friday. The plan is to toss 2 backgammon dice out of a helicopter 200-300 ft. up in the sky onto a 1 acre-sized gigantic backgammon board-shaped field in a HUGE backgammon tournament, and huge here refers to the size of the playing field and dice, checkers and the event itself. Xbox 360 Party: Ninja Gaiden II
Posted by miuki as Game Previews, Games, Invites, Xbox
I really got to get this entries moving along. 2 down 8 more to go!
Next title is none other then…
Ninja Gaiden II
Sigh. All that blood but none from me.
If given the opportunity to really get my hands dirty, I’d really like to ripe this game apart and tell you head to toes how and what makes it bleed. But, hey, boohoo for me. At least I had the opportunity to sit back, relax, and watch the presenter work the blades? [ Click here to read more ]

Xbox 360 Party: Alone in the Dark
Posted by miuki as Game Previews, Games, Invites, Xbox
Here’s another take at the Xbox 360’s 2nd Birthday Party at The Screening Room on April 3, 2008.

Title no. 2 (out of the 10 that I’ve promised) is…
Alone in the Dark
Taking the fear to a whole new level, and giving more gory zombie slasher survival thriller goodness, the next gen Alone in the Dark features the macabre style of the series played with new gameplay mechanics and a broader-reaching, action-packed play style. Explore fully-interactive real-time worlds, interacting with physics and roaming the wide-open, fright-filled environments. [ Click here to read more ]

Sony talks about new Firmware for PlayStation 3
Posted by miuki as Consoles, PS3
The Playstation 3 is getting a Firmware update, which is no doubt a good thing, I think.

The update is slated for next week, and SCEA has some details of what the firmware entails.
For all you audiophiles out there, you are going to love this. DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio are being added to the Playstation 3. In other words, this will allow you to have the full high definition Blu-Ray experience.
If you have 7.1 surround sound system you are going to absolutely love this “patch” (so to speak). [ Click here to read more ]

Resistance 2 - GTTV Exclusive Teaser HD
Posted by miuki as Game Previews, Games, PS3
Not much of an “exclusive” by now. Since almost ever other gaming site/blog out there has probably already put up the trailer.
Anyhow.
By now I hope you’ve had a chance to check out our most recent Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Now comes the so-called “exclusive” teaser trailer for Resistance 2 from Sony and of course, Insomniac.
As with most teaser trailers, it doesn’t give too much away, but it gives you a good idea of where Insomniac are going with the game. Huge environments, big battles, things exploding. You get the idea. [ Click here to read more ]

Xbox 360 Party: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Posted by miuki as Game Previews, Games, Invites, Xbox
I know I haven’t been updating much lately, exams were in place. But now, since my exams are over and I’m back in action (so to speak) yet again!
Anyhow.
After attending Xbox 360’s 2nd Birthday Party at The Screening Room on April 3, 2008 (3 days before my first paper), I feel the whole gaming spirit in me suddenly rushing out for some air.
We were given a sneak peek at 10 upcoming titles on the Xbox 360, and I’ve have to say that most, if not all, of them look delicious enough to eat! (Too bad I don’t have my own Xbox set yet though.)
10 titles is seriously a little overwhelming for one entry alone, so, for starters, I’m going to present to you…
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Here’s my favorite screenshot outta the 3 (there’s only 4 given to us anyway) that I’ve selected to present to you. [ Click here to read more ]

Space Invaders Get Even - Be The Space Invaders?

It’s been a long time coming, but the Space Invaders are about to have their day. So says Chris Kohler.
At a press conference in Japan, Taito, a subsidiary of Square Enix, announced that you’ll be able to control gaming’s most iconographic pixelized aliens in Space Invaders Get Even: Counterattack of the Space Invaders, coming later this year for Wii. [ Click here to read more ]

Hello Kitty Online: Closed Beta!
If only I could be the little girl in the image below…
Have I mentioned that Sanrio announced, roughly 2 weeks ago, that opening of it’s closed beta for the Hello Kitty Online MMORPG?
Guess not eh?
Duh. I only learnt about it today. Haha!
I remember signing up for information on this about a year ago now, but apparently they did away with the contact lists, because I didn’t receive notification at all.
Thank god I was totally bored and have nothing else interesting to write in this long-gone-outdated blog of mine. Otherwise, I’d probably not stumble upon this piece of information at all! *Phew*

GameSpot Editor, Jason Ocampo, leaves?
Posted by miuki as Industry
Here’s something to feast your eyes upon.
Apparently the latest to leave GameSpot is Jason Ocampo?
Who is he you ask?
Well, according to the source, he was the PC Editor at GameSpot and before that worked at CNET Game Center.
“I do want to say it was not something I was thinking about or planning,”
explained Ocampo during the HotSpot.
“Three weeks ago, I had no idea I would be leaving and… (I had an opportunity and) it was time to move on. It was the hardest decision I think I’ve ever made in my life.”
Ocampo made the announcement during GameSpot’s podcast, HotSpot.
