Has it really been a year since the last showdown? Or is this a brand new event Xbox came up with to promote it’s brand? What ever the case it, you have to make a date with them on October 23 to 25, 2009 at VivoCity! It’s one of those events that you shouldn’t/mustn’t miss out on.
Together with its gaming partners, Xbox intends to put together the biggest hits of 2009. You’d expect exclusive hands-on sessions with unreleased games and a SGD20,000 worth of prizes in challenges.

I’ve heard a lot about Left 4 Dead but have never actually tried it out for myself. It was an eye-opener experience for me really, having to watch people compete right before my eyes – yes, the WCG Singapore 2009.
I see shooting, I see zombies but I just don’t “see” how the game is being played. It’s confusing really. Too much action too little explanation.
Now, according to GameSync (yes, it’s the third time I’m quoting them),

Team Fortress 2 can be played competitively too? Surprise, surprise! (The biggest surprise is that Priss is plays it, a medic, and her team got 2nd place! Can you imagine that? Anyway, that’s not the point I’m getting at.)
I paid more attention to the TF2 match instead of the Counter-Strike one this year (mainly cause Priss was playing). I had my bet on anomaly really, but sadly they lost to VCO, which was also deserving of course (even though I had no idea how TF2 works anyway).
According GameSync, this was …

Remember years ago when GBR took on ELM, won the match, and with a blink of an eye became one of the top Counter-Strike clans in Singapore?
History never fails to repeat itself and this time gameSENSE rose victorious from no-where (well, at least I’ve never heard of them). Yesterday, during the WCG 2009, Asian Championship, Singapore National Finals, they were crowned Singapore’s new Counter-Strike 1.6 champions!
According to a new piece from GameSync,

It seems IAHGames and MyCNX are sending two EA SPORTS FIFA Online 2 players (1 Singaporean and 1 Malaysian) to Korea!
These elite gamers will enjoy paid airfare and accommodation to Busan, South Korea, as they compete with players from around the world at the 2009 Hyundai Motor Cup (HMC) for the grand prize of a Hyundai Verna.

Okay, I didn’t attend the party but well… Some gamers that I once knew did. If I’m not wrong, Priss was there too?
Anyway…
I got this picture off GameSync’s website. Notice the second guy from the right?

I’m not truly sure if I’m actually urge to see the launching of new games or am I just announcing for them for the sake of writing something worthwhile, which is apparently not working the way I’m hoping it would.
Anyway…
Next week, on November 13, Electronic Arts will be hosting EA Mania, which is somewhat a massive launch for the four much-awaited titles: Crysis, Medal of Honour: Heroes 2, Need For Speed: Prostreet, and SimCity Societies.

The World Cyber Games (WCG) has been an event that I try at best to take note of every year. And this year (2007), what I can say is, the publicity created really puts the last couple of years to shame (congrats organizers).
Before the actual event itself, probably everyone (gamer or non-gamer) knows about the upcoming championship. And it has seriously put the gaming scene in Singapore a step higher then before.
Though still not perfect (but nothing ever is), it’s definitely defining the acceptance we Singaporeans have towards gaming in …

The World Cyber Games 2007 – Singapore Championships was held on 2nd and 3rd of August 2007 at Suntec Singapore Hall 602.
This year’s WCG Singapore campaign has, in fact, started much earlier then the previous couple of years.
