Game. Gaming. Gambling?
Posted by miuki as Advertorial, Perspectives
There’s like a directory for everything these days.
And basically the most important thing, in my opinion that is, that makes an online directory work is the search-ability, and of course, the site navigations.
This Casino guide site (as in the screenshot above) really need a color-makeover, and I can’t really say much about the ‘search-ability‘. In fact, I don’t exactly see any. But of course, navigation wise… It’s really not too bad. Easy to navigate around and more importantly, the whole table thingy works well for me.
Lets move on…
I wouldn’t really define ‘Gambling‘ as ‘Gaming‘ or even that it’s something like a ‘Game‘. However, I don’t exactly call the shots either, do I? [ Click here to read more ]

Does money grow on trees?
Posted by miuki as Advertorial, Perspectives
Remember the last entry that came after the topic ‘start your own online game shop‘? You know the…
Does it work or does it not?
Well, I said that,
I’ve not really tested it or anything like that. So, as far as I can tell, the site basically, as mentioned, showcases reviews from people that have used particular products or even services, that you and I may be interested in. In short, it’s something like a rating site. Commercial ratings I guess?
I need to do my research now.
If, by any chance, I get the funds, or I found a way to work around the whole ‘funds thing‘ and I’m really going to start an online game shop, I’ll update again!
I’ve been reading up on the whole payday loans and cash advance thingy. And well, [ Click here to read more ]

Does it work or does it not?
Posted by miuki as Advertorial, Perspectives
In my previous entry, I was on the topic ‘start your own online game shop‘ (which was somewhat advertorial). This time round, it’s for real?
I’ve been putting some thought into the whole online game shop thing, and out of the blue (not really that out of a blue), I recalled that Pris’s boyfriend runs one. (It’s www.noctalis.com in case you’re interested to know.)
Here’s the thing, if Pris’s boyfriend can stay at home almost every single day playing games, and still make rough income of 2k for just selling games online… I guess it’s a business worth going into?
After all, it’s rather automatic with the shopping cart software installed and all. Plus, there are tons of new games coming up, like…
Or is that out already? Hmmm… [ Click here to read more ]

Growth of ’social networks’: To be or not to be?
Posted by miuki as Perspectives
In the recent days we tend to hear ALOT about ‘social networking sites‘.
Hmmm… So…
What exactly is a social network?
According to Wikipedia:
A social network is a social structure made of nodes (which are generally individuals or organizations) that are tied by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as values, visions, idea, financial exchange, friends, kinship, dislike, conflict, trade, web links, sexual relations, disease transmission (epidemiology), or airline routes.
Features that are usually available (and most widely made used of) are, member profiles and, of course, free chat rooms.
I mean… The purpose of such sites are basically to find old friends you lost, make new ones, and of course, well… Discuss stuff?
Anyhow.
As this ‘trend‘ evolves, more and more of such sites are pop-ing up almost anywhere and everywhere online. For sites that aren’t as big as Friendster, Facebook or even WireClub, they usually take the more ‘specific‘ approach. In other words, they catered more towards specific interest groups to attract specific audience.
As a gamer, I tend to look towards the ‘gaming‘ options, which of course lead me to… [ Click here to read more ]

Has Sex ‘Impregnate’ Gaming?
Posted by miuki as Perspectives
It’s all about ‘sex‘ now?
I, like many others out there, love the look of an attractive man as much as the next woman (since I’m a female and all). But where do you draw the line?
If you notice lately at Ping.sg, topics related to ‘sex‘ tend to hit the ‘most popular in the last 24 hours‘ charts easily.
This is becoming a trend which many are using at their advantage.
Blogs like ‘Sex tapes‘ with articles such as:
- Paris Hilton Sex Tape Free Online
- Kimberly Guilfoyle sex tape. Is it real?
- Popular potato chips home video
Are good examples.
Even in the ‘Gaming‘, you tend to see advertisement banners designed in the angle with ‘sex approach‘, just to draw the attention of the casual man and women.
Just the other day, I was browsing around some online gaming site, trying to get an idea for what to talk about. That’s when I saw that ad again! [ Click here to read more ]

Counter-Strike vs. Paintball
Posted by miuki as Personal, Perspectives
If you were to select Counter-Strike (the PC game) or Paintball, which would you pick?
For me, I pick Counter-Strike of course. I never really liked “real life” violence. Virtual reality kind is “okay”, I guess. I mean, you can’t actually get injured playing a PC game, can you?
Anyway…
I’ve been hearing a couple of comments about the somewhat link between Counter-Strike and Paintball. And to be frank, I find it ridiculous.
Counter-Strike is Counter-Strike.
Paintball is Paintball.
The significant difference between them is that one is virtual the other is reality. Enough said?
For god sake, Counter-Strike is a damn PC game, it’s virtual! Where as, Paintball is somewhat like a physical sport, it’s very real!
The requirements for Counter-Strike and Paintball is completely different. To play Counter-Strike you just need a PC, a keyboard, a mouse, and of course the game installed. But for Paintball, you actually require stamina and speed to be able to excel (and not to forget you need to be able to bear with PAIN as well). [ Click here to read more ]

Internet Addiction: Is It Real?
Posted by miuki as Perspectives
Based on Ivan Goldberg, M.D., in 1995, he states that Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD) is a theorized disorder originally made as a satirical hoax. He took pathological gambling as diagnosed by the DSM-IV as his model for the spoofed description.
Honestly, I’m not quite getting it.
Anyway…
Addiction itself is real, it’s not even something new. Internet on the other hand, is not new of course, but it’s rapidly changing. Life has it’s ways to confuse and mislead, or perhaps you can say it’s society/environment that caused it. Like what I’ve just written, it’s pure confusion.
See the addiction itself is a psychological “thing“. Like the need to go online otherwise you feel uneasy. In fact, you don’t actually need to go online cause whether you do or not, you can still live through the day in one piece.
I read an article that stated that: [ Click here to read more ]

When games take over…
Posted by miuki as Perspectives
At a stage of a gamers life, a critical stage that is, there’s this possibility that gaming itself becomes this extreme addiction that seriously affects the whole flow of your life itself.
Have I been at such a stage previous? No. Thank god.
There was a period of time in my life that I was somewhat addicted to gaming, yes. However, that was the period of time that I wasn’t actually doing anything “worthwhile” anyway.
It was the stage of my life when I had to choose a path, and that might be the path of no return. Once taken, there was no turning back. So before stepping towards it, I had to take a break, short one, but it had to be done (at least I felt it should be this way).
I’m probably not making much sense… [ Click here to read more ]
