Add me on Pets LIVE!

I didn’t think that when I said, “More details the next time round” it would be more than a month later. Honestly, I thought I would be able to maintain constant updates on all my blogs but seemingly that’s not how things are looking.

First and foremost, for those that aren’t familiar with Pets LIVE by Storm8, it’s an iPhone game. Mentioning earlier, it’s like “Mafia Wars with characters from Neopets.” Here are some screenshots I got from AppShopper:

Initially, I had the impression that the game revolves around how much money you have, it’s only after the bear said, “money in this game is quite pointless, as long as I can maintain the upkeep it’s good enough already.” “With 10 million or just 1 million what do you gain from it? There’s no items to buy…” It’s only then I realise I was kinda going at it wrongly – with more than 10 million in my bank.

The game is about patience and time management. The amount of energy you have defines the quest you’re able to do and therefore defines how much experience you gain and how much you make. You regenerate 10 energy every 4 minutes. So if you’re required to have 100 energy to do a particular quest, the trick is to set your alarm to ring every 40 minutes to remind you to do it. This way you’d maximise efficiency so to speak, and you wouldn’t lose out on gaining experience and earning money, which is pretty important to a player like myself.

I’m a defense player, so attacking doesn’t benefit me at all. Which also means I can only depend on people attacking and doing quest to level up. This also explains how the bear managed to overtake me so quickly. The bear is an attack player. He gets an upper hand attacking others. The more he attacks and wins, the more experience he gains (not forgetting money that is). But he can’t constantly attack either. Unfortunately, to attack you require 1 spirit and if you don’t pump up that stat you only have a max of 4. Spirit replenishes together with energy, but instead of 10 it replenishes by 1 every 4 minutes. In other words, every 16 minutes an attack player can only attack another player 4 times at max then he/she will need to wait at least another 4 minutes to attack once again.

Here’s something to take note of. It is always good to keep your money in your bank despite the 10% deposit fee. With no money on you, players won’t be able to benefit from you, that much at least. There are of course many other things to take note of, but we’ll leave it at this, for now.

You can add your code at Pets Live Codes and well… other players will recruit you. Having a large team is a good thing, not at the initial stage but later on in the game. For instance, at level 16, your pets should also be level 16. But if your team has 16 more team members, you’ll be able to add 16 additional level making your pets level 32. Fyi, you can only double the level of your pets from your own level. Don’t ask me why, but that’s how it works.

Confused yet? Okay, I’ll stop here then. In case you’re wondering, I’m currently level 39 with level 78 pets – Firemouth (fire), Flutz (air), Tumbler (earth), and Lily (water) – defense pets. Add me, N7DB8!
