WCG SG 2009: Team Fortress 2 results
Team Fortress 2 can be played competitively too? Surprise, surprise! (The biggest surprise is that Priss is plays it, a medic, and her team got 2nd place! Can you imagine that? Anyway, that’s not the point I’m getting at.)
I paid more attention to the TF2 match instead of the Counter-Strike one this year (mainly cause Priss was playing). I had my bet on anomaly really, but sadly they lost to VCO, which was also deserving of course (even though I had no idea how TF2 works anyway).
According GameSync, this was the first ever TF2 tournament at WCG (I think). I would like to go more into detail about the game and how everything worked, but… I really have no idea what’s going on so I think it really defeats the point for me to do so. Whatever I say would be insignificant and insubstantial.
So, here’s what I do know, the champions got SGD2,000 in cash, second place got SGD1,000 and third place got SGD500. I also know that H2H received a walkover cause members from o9k were playing another game and the timing clashed so they forfeited playing the TF2 match.
Here are the results of the various rounds (compliments of GameSync).
First round:
- H2H > NfR. (match report)
- o9k > s7n
- anomaly > PIE
Semi-finals:
- VCO > H2H (match report)
- anomaly > o9K
Finals:
- 1st/2nd: VCO > anomaly
- 3rd/4th: H2H > o9K (walkover)
This is pointless to say but *ahem* the cutest guy playing TF2 has got to be the Jay Zhou lookalike (according to Priss) from anomaly – his nick is X e L (I think). Like I said, it’s a pointless statement, I just felt like typing that
.
If you’re interested (girls only of course), he’s 21 years old (in September that is), single, available and straight!
PS: AGAIN – I think I have some photos… Will go through my camera and upload it later.
PPS: To certain individuals that may or may not read this particular blog of mine… There’s no need for jealousy here, it’s just a random remark
.

H2H won because only 2 of o9k turn up, the rest were too scared.
