Hello Kitty Online: Closed Beta!

If only I could be the little girl in the image below…

Have I mentioned that Sanrio announced, roughly 2 weeks ago, that opening of it’s closed beta for the Hello Kitty Online MMORPG?

Guess not eh?

Duh. I only learnt about it today. Haha!

I remember signing up for information on this about a year ago now, but apparently they did away with the contact lists, because I didn’t receive notification at all.

Thank god I was totally bored and have nothing else interesting to write in this long-gone-outdated blog of mine. Otherwise, I’d probably not stumble upon this piece of information at all! *Phew*

Background news you ask?

Okay. It appears that Typhoon Games is teaming up with Sanrio Digital to use the familiar characters to create a modern MMORPG. A MMORPG that could bring tons of “non-gamers” into the online gaming universe! Which is incredibly exciting, for me at the very least!

At the website here you can read about the upcoming game and view some screenshots to get a feel of what it’s going to be like.

Here’s a couple I extracted:

Kinda feels like the long forgotten 2D game, DarkAges eh?

Here’s what you can do in-game that is.

You’ll be able to customize your character’s hair, hair accessories, facial features, clothes, shoes and handheld items.

There are, of course, monsters for you to battle, and you’ll also be able to farm and build your other skills. Typical.

For Hello Kitty fans like me (I am a HUGE fan I’m telling you), you’ll definitely want to visit and sign up for the closed beta test! There may be bugs, but it’s Hello Kitty, thus, it’s all worth it!

The game will be free and is expected to launch in the second half of 2008. *Sweet!*

I have loved Hello Kitty for so long! It looks so cute! My only complaint is that you have to send in a video application to enter beta! Do we think that is such a great idea for little kids to do? Also, might be hard for some kids to even figure out HOW to do that :(
