Will Arnett talks about Call Of Duty 4

Posted by miuki as Games

If you peeps missed the other night’s Conan O’Brien with Will Arnett on it, here’s a replay for you:

Here’s the something considerably ‘note-worthy’. Apparently, a good portion of the interview all he, Will Arnett talked about was playing Call of Duty 4.

Kinda kewl I guess. Though to be honest, I don’t really watch Conan O’Brien that much.

Hello Kitty Online: Closed Beta!

Posted by miuki as Games

If only I could be the little girl in the image below…

Have I mentioned that Sanrio announced, roughly 2 weeks ago, that opening of it’s closed beta for the Hello Kitty Online MMORPG?

Guess not eh?

Duh. I only learnt about it today. Haha!

I remember signing up for information on this about a year ago now, but apparently they did away with the contact lists, because I didn’t receive notification at all.

Thank god I was totally bored and have nothing else interesting to write in this long-gone-outdated blog of mine. Otherwise, I’d probably not stumble upon this piece of information at all! *Phew*

GameSpot Editor, Jason Ocampo, leaves?

Posted by miuki as Industry News

Here’s something to feast your eyes upon.

Apparently the latest to leave GameSpot is Jason Ocampo?

Who is he you ask?

Well, according to the source, he was the PC Editor at GameSpot and before that worked at CNET Game Center.

“I do want to say it was not something I was thinking about or planning,”

explained Ocampo during the HotSpot.

“Three weeks ago, I had no idea I would be leaving and… (I had an opportunity and) it was time to move on. It was the hardest decision I think I’ve ever made in my life.”

Ocampo made the announcement during GameSpot’s podcast, HotSpot.

Aloft to Open Hotel Inside Second Life

Posted by miuki as Games

This is way outdated I must say, but since the hotel isn’t exactly opened until September 2008. It is still new worth talking about.

In a gaming first Aloft Hotels is going to debut its new hotel online in Second Life before the actual bricks-and-mortar hotel opens in 2008.

In September, Second Life’s visitors will be able to enter an aloft hotel and interact with others as they get a sneak peek at the hotel before the first aloft opens its doors. Visitors can follow the development progress of building the 3-D virtual aloft hotel online via a companion weblog at virtualaloft.com. Each week the weblog will be updated with daily diary entries from the 3-D developers as they build the virtual hotel.

“The aloft brand is about providing an escape from the ordinary and reinventing everyday experiences,”

- said Brian McGuinness, Vice President of Aloft Brand Development. [ Click here to read more ]

WoW says: “Love Is in the Air”

Posted by miuki as World of Warcraft

Love is most definitely in the air.

After all, in 2 days times it’s Valentine’s Day eh?

Here’s a little something to shine some light to those that WoW all day.

According to WoW Insider:

Sharp-eyed tipster Aikiwoce spotted this dead ringer for a certain object that rhymes with “freighted D’Artagnan noob” outside the Stormwind gates, presumably as part of the “Love Is in the Air” holiday that kicked off today.

This was dated yesterday in case you’re wondering.

Sigh. If only Teddybear still plays World of Warcraft.

Anyhow. [ Click here to read more ]

Don’t leave home without one

Posted by miuki as Advertorial

If you need to take care of the old ones and still make it for a game launch, clan match or anything like that.

Well… It’s time to look at options isn’t it?

When it comes to long-term care, we all want to make the right choice - for ourselves and our loved ones.

So arranging the right kind of care is crucial for your welfare and your peace of mind.

(I know, this really isn’t selling well at all. Still…)

Anyhow.

Did you know that care homes are like nursing home?

Like duh. It’s quite obvious. [ Click here to read more ]

Loving the shopping cart!

Posted by miuki as Advertorial

Some time ago I wrote about the idea of doing up this new online game shop with this shopping cart software from Ashop Commerce, well, it’s almost done. Seriously.

You may think it’s an advertorial entry or something, but well… It isn’t. I actually installed it and playing around with it right now!

But of course, I’m not releasing it until later days. Got some integration to meddle with before I proceed on actually advertising the site and all. (If I can successfully integrate it that is.)

It’s quite complex yet simple at the same time. Fascinating I must say. (Okay maybe not that fascinating.)

All in all, it has the right features, has the right look, and well, has the ability to allow online shoppers to purchase. Duh. (Otherwise it wouldn’t be a shopping cart software would it?) [ Click here to read more ]

Geeky is the new Beautiful?

Posted by miuki as Advertorial

I do not deny that I love the camera most of the time, but while playing Counter-Strike, is kinda over the edge.

Sigh. I wish I had 20/20 eye sight, but well… Apparently I don’t.

If you paid attention the so-called trend lately, you’d notice this that more and more females are kinda into the whole ‘geeky look‘ thing. (I’m a natural by the way, considering that fact that I was once a nerd.)

Seriously,

Geeky is the new Beautiful?

Cause it really seems like that. Don’t you agree?

Sigh. Lately my eye sight is getting from bad to worst. I blame it on the computer games and web development projects. I’ve been facing the computer like 12-16 hours a day. Can you imagine?

I need a new pair of glasses? [ Click here to read more ]

[Review] Speedy: Need for ‘Speedy’ - I think NOT!

Posted by miuki as LAN Reviews

Typo perhaps? Hardly.

The game Need for Speed attracted gazillion gamers (exaggeration) around to world, correct me if I’m right. However, sometimes speed isn’t always what’s worth.

If I’ve not mistaken the LAN center, Speedy, has been around for quite a while. It’s located in Prinsep Street, beside what was once E-Games (which according to GameSync - mysteriously closed down).

Something that puzzles me.

With the publicity Gaming Giants (aka GG) is getting from the media, Speedy with such horrid ‘gaming environment’ and located within the same district as one of GG outlets, seems to be not just surviving, but going strong! (Close to a full house in fact, but it was a Saturday night though.)

The experience left me a scar that I doubt I’ll ever recover from. (Another exaggeration yet again.)

Speedy is truly one of the worst enclose-dust-invested area I’ve ever laid eyes on. It’s as though I was suddenly transported to a desert zone within instances. (This, I’m not exaggerating.)

On the outside, the LAN shop looks like every other, just slightly run-down so to speak. However, the moment you sit yourself at one of the terminals. Tada!

All is lost.

Remember the method I used to evaluate GG? [ Click here to read more ]
