Game. Gaming. Gambling?
Posted by miuki as Advertorial, Perspectives
There’s like a directory for everything these days.
And basically the most important thing, in my opinion that is, that makes an online directory work is the search-ability, and of course, the site navigations.
This Casino guide site (as in the screenshot above) really need a color-makeover, and I can’t really say much about the ‘search-ability‘. In fact, I don’t exactly see any. But of course, navigation wise… It’s really not too bad. Easy to navigate around and more importantly, the whole table thingy works well for me.
Lets move on…
I wouldn’t really define ‘Gambling‘ as ‘Gaming‘ or even that it’s something like a ‘Game‘. However, I don’t exactly call the shots either, do I?
Gaming
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia*Blah, blah, blah*
The term can also refer to: Gambling
Wikipedia CANNOT be wrong… Can it?
Anyhow.
In the words of the ‘wise ones‘,
Gambling has an economic definition that somewhat refers to wagering money or something of material value on an event with an uncertain outcome with the primary intent of winning additional money and/or material goods.
And of course, typically, the outcome of the wager is evident within a short period of time.
(Otherwise this bet will be like forever!)
The term ‘Gaming‘ in this so-called context typically refers to instances in which the activity has been specifically permitted by law.
The 2 words are not mutually exclusive, which makes this phrase,
A ‘Gaming‘ Company offers (legal) ‘Gambling‘ activities to the public.
CORRECT!
So… Are you…
Game for another Game?
And I don’t mean a game of Wii if that’s what you’re thinking…
So cold. I know. Moving along.
Okay, the ‘Game‘ I’m referring to are those that you play at a Casino. And a Casino is the so-called ‘Gaming Company offers (legal) Gambling activities to the public‘.
(Pathetically, being over the age limits for sooo long, I’ve never been to one before.)
And well, being all digitalized and everything, there isn’t a need to physically visit Casinos anymore!
Saves on the cover charges? (Or does that only work in clubs?)
So now. Let me challenge you to a game of ‘real betting‘ poker vias the Internet?
Then again, maybe not. Virtual or reality, I doubt I’m any good at this kinda games.
