It’s all about ‘sex‘ now?

I, like many others out there, love the look of an attractive man as much as the next woman (since I’m a female and all). But where do you draw the line?

If you notice lately at Ping.sg, topics related to ‘sex‘ tend to hit the ‘most popular in the last 24 hours‘ charts easily.

This is becoming a trend which many are using at their advantage.

Blogs like ‘Sex tapes‘ with articles such as:

- Paris Hilton Sex Tape Free Online
- Kimberly Guilfoyle sex tape. Is it real?
- Popular potato chips home video

Are good examples.

Even in the ‘Gaming‘, you tend to see advertisement banners designed in the angle with ‘sex approach‘, just to draw the attention of the casual man and women.

Just the other day, I was browsing around some online gaming site, trying to get an idea for what to talk about. That’s when I saw that ad again!

It’s the ad for Play Magazine’s Girls of Gaming - an ad that I’ve seen before for its various versions. And so it triggered my thinking.

Games are becoming more and more like the movie business, and, unfortunately, ‘SEX SELLS‘!

A half baked movie with a hot chick in it will do well enough at the box office, so the movie is green-lighted, same goes for games. Sad but true.

We continue throughout the gaming space and if you pay attention to the surrounding (of course you would), you’d notice the increase in sex imagery in games. And you know what? It’s not just hookers in Grand Theft Auto or strippers in Duke Nukem anymore.

Most games nowadays that come out can’t survive without at least one busty heroine.

Lara Croft was a ground-breaking character who is certainly top-heavy. Perhaps it’s the original Tomb Raider’s gameplay or it’s Lara herself, but something changed after that point.

Now you can’t look at a poster for the latest MMO or such, without a pair of C-cups (sigh) or larger, bouncing into your face. Just go and take a look at the game posters for Guild Wars and that about sums it up.

Here’s a question to think about. How many really hot women do you know who kick that much ass?

I wish I did. But unless they’re Angelina Jolie, or probably the works for breast enlargement. I don’t think there are too many.

Time to tone it down a notch?
