Reality has forbid me to blog?

Posted by miuki as Personal

It’s been days since I actually wrote anything. I’ve done a lot of thinking, so to say. But it seems the thoughts didn’t come out to actual actions.

On the other hand, I don’t want to be just writing for the sake of writing something. I want to do it for the sake of having the urge to do so. I love the idea of blogging cause it creates a satisfaction that only I, myself, can feel. It’s something that not everyone can comprehend but many would somewhat agree with me (I hope).

Though this entry itself still has no relation to the aspect of creating this blog to begin with. Still, as the author, I feel the need to actually present what I feel and what I’m doing the past few days to reason why I’ve not written anything.

I’m so sorry…

Posted by miuki as Personal

I don’t know when it started but I’m starting to sense that I’m lost in my writing.

Not only am I not able to focus on the aim for the whole blog entirely, I have no aim in which defines whether or not I’m actually blogging for the sake of blogging or just writing for the sake of boredom and to see new phrases or such appearing on at the top of the page itself.

My aim for this blog is to look at everything at a very gamer prospective. However, not only have I not satisfy that criteria, I’m not even presenting my stand as a gamer at all.

I kinda like to think that the reason for such a failure is due to the fact that I do not game as much as I used to in the past. So can I somewhat say that the whole purpose of this blog is completely redundant? [ Click here to read more ]

Internet Addiction: Is It Real?

Posted by miuki as Perspectives

Based on Ivan Goldberg, M.D., in 1995, he states that Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD) is a theorized disorder originally made as a satirical hoax. He took pathological gambling as diagnosed by the DSM-IV as his model for the spoofed description.

Honestly, I’m not quite getting it.

Anyway…

Addiction itself is real, it’s not even something new. Internet on the other hand, is not new of course, but it’s rapidly changing. Life has it’s ways to confuse and mislead, or perhaps you can say it’s society/environment that caused it. Like what I’ve just written, it’s pure confusion.

See the addiction itself is a psychological “thing“. Like the need to go online otherwise you feel uneasy. In fact, you don’t actually need to go online cause whether you do or not, you can still live through the day in one piece.

I read an article that stated that: [ Click here to read more ]

When games take over…

Posted by miuki as Perspectives

At a stage of a gamers life, a critical stage that is, there’s this possibility that gaming itself becomes this extreme addiction that seriously affects the whole flow of your life itself.

Have I been at such a stage previous? No. Thank god.

There was a period of time in my life that I was somewhat addicted to gaming, yes. However, that was the period of time that I wasn’t actually doing anything “worthwhile” anyway.

It was the stage of my life when I had to choose a path, and that might be the path of no return. Once taken, there was no turning back. So before stepping towards it, I had to take a break, short one, but it had to be done (at least I felt it should be this way).

I’m probably not making much sense… [ Click here to read more ]

Haven’t you people gotten over that yet? Seriously, which generation are you living in?

Geez! Com’on already… The whole guys are better then girls concept is so past-tense. Guys should start getting over themselves. Haven’t you heard? female gaming is the new IN thing! :P

Why do I say that? Well…

On September 04, 2007, four friends - Dana, Leslie, Monique and Suzie wrote the first entry for their new “Girls Don’t Game (GDG)” blog. The idea of the site is to discusses video games and other gaming related topics. [ Click here to read more ]

Second Life: 9/11 Memorial, 6th Anniversary

Posted by miuki as Second Life

My experiences in Second Life may not be very enriching. However, I must say that every visit always has a deeper meaning to it.

So now, as mentioned in my main blog,

Yesterday, September 11, 2007, marks the 6th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, New York (NY).

I’d like to thank Andrew Peter, better known as APLINK, for somewhat inviting me to grace the event and take a glimpse at the memorial site. [ Click here to read more ]

Games Convention Asia: Paradise now

Posted by miuki as Personal

I’m a very “Internet-oriented” person, as in I love to surf the net for any interesting updates, even it if doesn’t affect me direct or indirectly. I’m so not making sense am I?

Anyway. I was going through Youth.SG and I read about the Games Convention Asia.

The inaugural Games Convention Asia 2007 got to a fine start on Thursday as Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports and Second Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts at the Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre opened the highly-anticipated gaming event.

- Youth.SG

I saw the name of a familiar name of a minister who graced an event “someone” very close to me somewhat organized last December 2006 - Dr Balakrishnan. [ Click here to read more ]
